As we prepare to move into our new facility, we wanted to make fire safety a priority! With this in mind, we knew we needed to expand our fire marshal team to accommodate our growing family.

Bringing on more employees and navigating a new environment requires us all to be ready for emergencies. That is why we invested in comprehensive fire marshal training! This is more than just checking boxes; it is about reducing reaction times during fire accidents and creating a culture of safety that benefits all our staff.

During their training at the Merseyside FRS Fire Marshal Training Course, our team learnt the following:

  • Fire Prevention Techniques: What are the common causes of fires, like electrical malfunctions (responsible for 19% of workplace fires in 2024), and how to prevent them.

  • Evacuation Procedures: What are the most effective evacuation plans so that everyone knows the safest routes and exits.

  • Firefighting Equipment: Hands-on experience with fire extinguishers, alarms, and other safety devices, ensuring you're ready to act quickly if needed.

  • Emergency Response Coordination: The best communication strategies during a crisis to keep everyone informed and alert the right authorities. Having our 4 designated fire marshals, pictured above, in our larger facility will be vital. These safety champions will help us follow fire safety protocols and keep everyone informed about potential risks. Plus, they will take a proactive approach of conducting regular inspections to spot hazards before they turn into emergencies.

As we take this exciting step into our expanded facility, it’s not just about meeting safety regulations - it’s about building a workplace that truly values health and security. Together, we can create a safe and thriving environment for everyone!

    Well done, team!
