Having just finished school, Sarah Luscombe was keen to start a professional that allowed her to work outside the monotony of an office environment. She chose to embark on an 18-year journey with the Royal Army Medical Corps that deployed her across several conflict zones that eventually left her discharged due to an injury. Having to rebuild her career from scratch, Sarah was eager to get back to work to provide for her family.

She was suggested the AC department at B-engineering, as this would allow her the freedom to continue working outdoors.

"What drew me to B-engineering was that they were a family ran company that prioritised the well-being of their employees. I didn't want to go into a big corporation that I'd be just another number. When I saw that they were also supporters of the Armed Force Covenant, it felt like it was the perfect match for me."

Sarah was assigned a mentor, Mark Lowe, who guided her through becoming an AC Engineer from the ground up. This led to her placement position turning into a permanent role within the company and has since thrived in her new role.

"Having come from a very male dominated industry, the banter felt familiar and this felt like a place I could transition into with ease."
