Case Study: JJ FoodService
LED Lighting Upgrade
Project:

In the lighting case study, we found outdated luminaires like fluorescent tubes in quad arrangements and 400W metal halide lamps. These old fittings drained energy in the 24-hour operation. Despite natural daylight from loading bays and skylights, the warehouse had poor lighting with shadows and inconsistent levels.

Solution:
In the warehouse, we utilised premium high bay fittings that allowed us to reduce power consumption to 100W while still meeting CIBSE guidelines for light levels, resulting in a remarkable 75% savings on the client's lighting electricity bill.
The high bay fittings along the racking aisles were equipped with integrated microwave motion sensors to turn off completely during periods of minimal forklift activity.
In the office space, we introduced 20W low-energy LED panels to optimise electricity use. This lighting is UGR<19, flicker-free, and provides 500 lux. Additionally, we decreased energy usage by 80% in the car park and for other external lighting by implementing long-lasting floodlight luminaires.
